However, whenever you buy a ticket from us, you will automatically receive the best available seats within the category you've selected. The event promoters and venues that we work with currently have no systems in place that allow third party ticketing agents to access their respective floors plans. Ticketing systems in China vary from venue to venue, and many are not advanced enough to offer specific seat selection. The highlight of the night was getting to keep the mask (they didn't allow this in London) and getting directed to the rooftop garden bar.Unfortunately, no. I would even consider going again if i'm ever in NYC again. But if you have an appreciation of the arts then I cannot recommend it highly enough. Obviously if you're not a theatre goer the chances are that you won't enjoy it. I wouldn't pay much attention to the negative reviews because the production is something special. It wasn't until I read the story that I understood what I had witnessed during the evening. One of our party purchased the book they've made that gives you the story and info about the company actors. There was one scene that had strobe lighting - I'm not sure if they warn you about this?! - but it was so intense I didn't want to blink in case I missed something. 3 hours was over very quickly and when we were led to the bar at 10pm I couldn't believe it was over. I won't give you any spoilers but I had no idea what the story was about before going and when it ended I had no idea what had just happened. It's better in some ways because you will have a different experience to them and be able to make more sense of the story when you get back together and talk about what you saw. Be prepared to lose whoever you are with, this is normal and encouraged by the actors you meet at the beginning of the evening. I had a lot of fun exploring the venue and am in awe of the set designs, they're extraordinary! Some of the spaces are confined which makes it difficult if you're following a scene, you may get a restricted view or pushed out of the way but this can't be helped. If you're easily spooked then be prepared, I jumped out of my skin a few times as you'll walk around a corner or open a door and there is a masked figure coming towards you. At times when you are watching the scenes you'll look around and be faced with a sea of masks, it's such a surreal feeling. You've no doubt seen pictures of the masks you are issued, I loved this aspect. We arrived for 7pm entry giving us the maximum time to try and piece together the story. ![]() ![]() Keep some cash or a card on you because you will wait in the bar area and be directed to the bar area at the end of the evening. When you enter, there is a complimentary cloakroom which i'd recommend using as I was so hot during the evening. ![]() Yes, tickets are on the pricey side but I would say it's worth it and encourage you to book. Having been to the Drowned Man in London I thought I was prepared for this production but I had a totally different experience. I expect I thought about it more than anyone else, but isn't this type of art supposed to make you think? So - overall score of 3 because: 5 for the Lodge bar and the jazz bar which was part of the performance (recommend you book a table, we did, else crowded and difficult to talk), 3 for the main set and 1 for the performance because of the final scene - utterly tasteless and inappropriate. I didn't like this for a whole host of reasons - it could go wrong (it didn't), it encouraged anonymous viewing of a death as a spectacle - something we got away from in the Middle Ages - cheapening life and encouraging sheeplike behaviour, and then please think about the mock executions that are carried out in e.g. What I didn't like was the finale - everyone was directed together, and it culminated in a 'hanging'. The set did not appear to be disabled/wheelchair-friendly, although there was an initial lift, there were bumpy surfaces, bits you crawled though. The 'set' was well done but you got most of it if you went round on your own, unfortunately with a disabled friend and an elderly companion, we all went round together. As for the 'theatre' performance, you had to don a scary mask and wander round a bunch of rooms. The main singer was Miss Stella Sinclair and she sang WELL and gave a great a performance along with her backing band. Then for the rest of the experience we were based in a twenties/thirties style jazz bar which was also great. The strangest 'theatre' production - the bar was really cool and the restaurant cabins (we were in the main restaurant) also looked good. Previous reviews (good and bad) all accurate. ![]()
